Cold formed steel framing: behaviour and design
Structural engineers are being increasingly asked to design with cold-formed steel.
There is increasing use of prefabricated cold-formed steel in housing and low-rise construction. This creates a growing need for engineers to be familiar with cold-formed steel design. This seminar will discuss the behaviour and design of cold-formed steel structures and describe available design standards and aids which makes designing easier. Design of structures for bushfire and fire will be covered. In addition, a discussion will be held on the issues in converting a building from timber to steel.
