Modern world construction has met challenges and hurdles with construction methods. Contractors and builders have come up with innovative (smart) construction technique to overcome the challenges and hurdles.
This presentation discusses how the innovative prefabricated and in-situ concrete structural elements of Hickory Building Systems (HBS) have enabled the construction of an award winning 44 level La-Trobe tower apartment building, 45 Level Student Accommodation Building and a 60 level Collins House building in Melbourne.
In an Australian first, these buildings were manufactured offsite in prefabricated sections, then transported to the construction site and assembled.
This HBS application is one of the first examples of integrated prefabricated structural system, which differs from more common, panelised modular systems and is more comparable in capability to conventional cast in-situ construction system.
